I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TikTok in Mar 2021
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, it was hard to schedule as communication was not good from the beginning. We finally spoke on the phone and it was all about me, didn’t explain the role or the company or team. Asked many questions off a paper, some were hard others were normal to the role. Said she would get back to me on Monday, since that was on a Friday. It’s been three weeks! I emailed her to follow up a week later and she answered me days later apologising and she would get back to me soon. Nothing yet!!! Have some respect for us!

Question 1
Interview process? Full cycle recruitment or only sourcing experience?
We appreciate your feedback and sincerely apologize for the lack of responsiveness and respect for your time that you experienced. We hold our team to high standards of transparency and communication, but it's clear that we have room to improve. Please know that your experience was not representative of our recruiting as a whole, and we hope that you'll consider other roles at TikTok that may interest you. I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at TikTok (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2021
Interview
I was reached out be an external vendor on Linkedin about this role, he gave me a quick overview on the position and moved be forward to speak with a recruiter on the team. The recruiter asked pretty standard questions around PTR, recruiting strategy etc. After that phone call, I moved forward to a video interview with a Recruiting Manager (I think?) and Hiring Manager that I would work with. That interview seemed to go well, again same questions around velocity/speed of hiring, hiring a growing company. It seemed like the team was still fleshing out a formal recruiting process and strategy, but mainly focus on hiring all the headcount they had opened in this business function. At the end of the day, I was rejected via email, for a role in Seattle (that I did not apply for!) Seems like they should focus a bit more on interview process and candidate experience, slow down a bit so that they can get organized.
Thank you for taking the time to write a thoughtful review. We hold our recruiters to high standards of organization in order to make the candidate experience as smooth as possible, but it's clear that your experience fell short and the communication left a lot to be desired. We do not want to sacrifice quality for the sake of speed. We've relayed your feedback to our local team, and whether it be with us or elsewhere, we wish you the best in your next role!
Would not recommend it. The interviewer was unwilling to answer a lot of questions, most of her reply was "Sorry, I cannot share". Reveals the secretive culture that is taking place there. I've lost the interest to speak to them 15 minutes into the call. Not the kind of workplace that I'd be keen to join.
