I applied online. I interviewed at TikTok (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2020
Interview
Recruiter reached out and was super fast and responsive. After spending a total of ~6 hours interviewing with the various team members in <2 weeks, I was told that they would get back to me during the following week. I was told multiple times by both the recruiter, HR, and team members that the hiring process moves quickly so I should hear feedback and next steps (whether positive or negative) pretty quickly.
Then, radio silence for over a month. After following up repeatedly with no response, I was finally told in a brief email that they were still waiting for feedback from the team. When I simply asked if this was a reject (which I didn't mind at this point, I just wanted an honest answer), they basically just told me I was still being considered and they wanted me to wait (now approaching 2+ months of no updates but being told to "still in consideration")
I had read a couple of reviews from here describing similar situations and it's a shame that it ended up being true for me too. Maybe they still need to finalize headcount? But then why continue to promote the position on LinkedIn as if it's actively recruiting?
We've very sorry that you were not updated or provided answers to your follow-ups during the interview process. Responsiveness during the interview process is absolutely essential, so we have incorporated your feedback and are making this a top priority for us to address. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we wish you the best going forward!

Interview
One of the worst company to interview with. I've heard several negative experiences that other industry peers had with them but I just had to try it for myself. They'd lure you in with offering a Manager role, only to retract and offer an Analyst or Specialist role.
There were 3 rounds of interviews, none of them a hiring manager because they didn't even have one at that point in time. All 3 were peer-level, none of them had any prior experience in policy work or even review work beyond 1 year.
They'd not offer you any company shares. They have no idea what flexi-benefits are and insists that you show prove of benefits from your current company. If you're not a Mainland Chinese, don't bother applying.
