Contacted by a recruiting coordinator from China on WhatsApp. The first thing she mentioned on the phone is "I do not know much about the role, I am just a coordinator." She then set up a video interview, with no details on who would be interviewing. I expected the first screen to be done by the hiring manager, who would be able to provide more details on the role. On the day of the interview, the interviewer turned out to be a direct report for the role. Seemed disinterested throughout the interview, and very unimpressive as well in terms of her credentials (I looked her up later, and was surprised. I guess I had assumed that a company growing so fast would have better talent than this. I asked her some Ops questions to understand more about what the team does on a daily basis, did not get any concrete responses.) She concluded the interview within 30 minutes. Pretty shabby process and bad experience.
