I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2021
Interview
The interview process was straightforward. A store manager or a human resources manager will ask you questions about your work experience and share information about qualifications that are needed for an open role.
Show genuine interest in home improvement / DIY or willingness to learn about it.
Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) when answering behavioral questions.
Be ready to talk about your availability (weekends, holidays) and how you function in fast-paced or changing retail environments.
Even if the role is entry level, basic awareness of tools, departments, or how you would help a customer can set you apart.
Prepare questions for your interviewer: e.g., “What does success look like in this role after six months?” or “How does the team handle busy periods like spring/summer?”
Dress business-casual (retail appropriate): nice pants/khakis + collared shirt/blouse.
