I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Glendale, AZ) in Feb 2015
Interview
I saw a "Now Hiring" sign in this particular store. It was very clear on the steps to be taken. 1. Apply on line. 2. Choose this particular store, by store number ,on the application. 3. Wait to receive a verification Number in an email. 4. Call the store with that number, to set up an interview. I followed those instructions and was called in about 3 days for my first interview, it was on a Thursday. It was fairly brief and although I was nervous, the man I interviewed with made me feel very comfortable. He was friendly, personable and encouraging. The questions were simple answers, mostly common sense and common courtesy. The following Monday I was called to come in and submit information for a background check, and to go for a drug test. Within 2 days I was scheduled to begin training.

Different customer scenarios and how would I respond
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (San Carlos, CA) in Oct 2013
Interview
It's a bit of a long process if you don't know someone working there. They call you and interview you over the phone and if you pass that interview you get an in-store interview with the HR and either a manager or supervisor.
I received a phone call to set up an in-person interview. The interview was conducted with the HR at the store. After all the questions, I was sent for a urine analysis.
