      Director Interview

      Jan 29, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Cigna Group

      Interview

Screening interview with the recruiter. It was a bit odd as the recruiter had not read my resume and was distracted during the call (doing other things). It really felt like I was being interviewed as a quota and not a serious candidate for the role. On top of that, the role was listed as remote but the expectation was in-person.

I interviewed at The Cigna Group (New York, NY)

      Interview

Multiple rounds starting with phone screen, brief meeting with hiring manager, individual meetings with peers, then panel and hiring manager’s boss. Process was pretty drawn out, about 8 weeks start to finish. Everyone was very nice.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Cigna Group in Jan 2024

      Interview

A very long and drawn out process, much longer than any other job I have ever applied for: HR phone interview, virtual panel interview, and finally an in person interview, each spaced out by 2 weeks. Most people apply to multiple jobs at once, meaning you may get multiple offers around the same time; keep this in mind if you find yourself in this situation since you should NOT wait for Cigna's final decision and risk being left without an offer in the end. Thankfully, I had other options lined up and did not fully rely on an offer and made sure I always had 1 offer in hand, since in the end it was just a waste of time; inconsiderate to the applicant. I suspect that the internal instability of the organization played a big part based on my research: ongoing lay offs for several months on a rolling basis (to avoid the WARN act possibly?), some hiring freezes last year, and recent selling of their Medicare Advantage business to another company this year- all signs that signal uncertainty and unrest. I'm thankful I may have dodged a bullet here. Do your research and be smart if you choose to proceed.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What would be your approach to someone who may get upset? Is there anything else we should know about you that's not in your application? What's your story of why you applied for this?
