I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Nov 2020
Interview
1. Recruiter Call.
2. One 45 minutes hiring manager interview over Teams.
3. Two 45 minutes interviews with senior TPM over Teams.
4. Four 45 minutes interviews with Business Systems Manager, SDM, Product Manger, Senior TPM.
Recruiters are terrible at scheduling. Interviewers didn't show up multiple times. Final decision took one week and the recruiter didn't care to inform the decision until I followed up. The reason they gave for not extending an offer was not a valid one. They said my experience was not sufficient for the role. But they knew this right at the resume scrutiny, not sure why they wasted their time and mine for 4 sets of interviews.
Based on the conversations I had with the interviews, Tesla is a chaotic mess and they are struggling to establish a structural process to support scaling.
