I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2012
Interview
I had two interviews with Target before being rejected. Interviews are typically broken into two sections:
1. Standard Questions
2. Behavioral Questions
Here are the questions I was asked during my first interview:
Standard:
1. Tell me about your education and work experience.
2. Why Target?
3. Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years?
Behavioral:
1. Tell me about a school project that you worked on, and walk me through the steps that you went through to complete your work.
2. Tell me about a time at work or school when you quickly and successfully adapted to an unforeseen change of plans.
3. Tell me about a time when you helped someone overcome difficulty to become an effective leader or a team player.
4. Tell me about a time you had to make a tough decision.
5. Tell me about a time you made a mistake at work.
Tips:
Glassdoor has every question you will see on these interviews. Start early, compile every question you can get, and practice. Try to avoid saying, "we" during the interviews. Target is looking for what you did, so say, "I implemented this" or "I decided the best course of action was to." According to my recruiter, your answers should be roughly be 10% describing the situation, 80% what you as a leader did in the situation, and 10% describing the outcome.
Try not to do a 1:00 pm interview. My interview was at 1:00 and my interviewer did not eat lunch--naturally she was not in the best condition to be talking with strangers. I would aim for earlier in the day or later, just to make sure they have some food in their stomach.
Best of luck.

Got the interview from a career fair. Met with one person who handled hiring and had a great conversation and had one other phone interview. Asked me relevant questions and I was excited about the role

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
