I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Starbucks (Tacoma, WA) in Apr 2009
Interview
I took top 10 lists of why I should be the next barista a store hired along with a resume. Only one manage was in when I delivered it, and that was the one that hired me. Only one other manager called me back of about 7 drop offs. If you do not give your app to a manager with a smile and a interactive friendly demeanor, consider yourself not hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you function under high pressure situations?
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
