I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (Oakland, CA) in Jul 2011
Interview
I had two interviews. The first one was with two managers and the second one was at a different location with a different manager. I smiled a lot and answered their questions well. They mostly asked the situational questions, using the typical what was the situation, what did you do to resolve it, what was the outcome. The first interview went well which is why I was asked for a second interview. The second interview, the manager didn't seem to like me. I wasn't offered a job, but told to apply at other locations and check back in a couple of months.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
