I applied in-person. I interviewed at Starbucks (Tucson, AZ) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pretty much exactly as described online. The first interview consisted mostly of behavioral questions, so I would recommend preparing a few examples from past work or customer service experiences using the STAR method.
The second interview was very relaxed and conversational. If you make it to this stage, it’s a coffee tasting with the district manager, who asks a few additional questions and focuses more on getting to know you as a person and seeing if you’d be a good fit for the team. Overall, I found the process straightforward and not overly intimidating.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
