Springer Nature interview questions

A telephone interview with HR at the initial stage after CV screening. The second stage was about assessing two full length manuscripts (difficulty level 4.5/5) providing detailed comments on your decisions for both. Once that stage was cleared an online interview (3h) was scheduled with editors (3). The interviewers appreared awkward and not very comfortable throughout the initial hour of competency based interview. In the second hour 2 full length manuscripts were provided for assessment and decision making (difficulty level (4.5/5). It sounded pretty hectic as there was not ample time to even glance through the entire lengths of the manuscripts. The third hour was about scientific discussions about the manuscripts and your assessments on them. Final decision was conveyed after two weeks, stating that they were looking for someone with a background in a slightly different area. It sounded like this decision could have been made via the initial CV screening stage itself, indicating lack of respect for the time and effort, candidates put in for the hiring process.

My application was via LinkedIn. I then had pre-check by a recruiter, then and interview with two supervisors from the team. Lastly a meeting with a skip-level boss, then offer via the recruiter. The process was straightforward and smooth from start to finish.
