I submitted my CV and cover letter to the email address I found online, their website said 'Apply now', but after submitting my application I got an automatic email saying 'Applications for our Graduate Programs are now closed'. I was upset that I spent at least an hour making my application, just to find out the deadline passed. However, I was contacted after 2 months to complete some online tests and then a video interview. I was shortly invited for an assessment day.
We were told to do a lot of research about Samsung and there will be a technical test regarding Samsung during the assessment, but throughout the day there was no such thing, and very few things were asked about Samsung, we even sat for an hour and they told us everything about Samsung. We were also told we had to re-do the same online aptitude tests we did at home, just to check if we did not cheat - the tests were waaaaay harder!
We had to make a PowerPoint presentation based on a case study, we were each given laptops and when I checked the time, it was set to 11pm or something, no other clock in the room which confused me and I constantly had to ask a supervisor for time.
It was also upsetting that they didn't pay for any transport/accomodation, and it costed me at least £120 pounds to make it for the assessment day, just to find out later I didn't get the job and I was given a feedback which was supposed to be helpful, but it only praised me for all the good things I did and only 1-2 aspects I should improve.
Probably the best marketing trick I learnt however - telling all my friends and family to never buy a Samsung phone again.
