      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SLB (Coimbatore)

      Interview

For intern candidates at Schlumberger (SLB), the interview process generally includes both Technical and HR rounds. The interview process tends to be slightly less intense compared to full-time positions, but it still evaluates core competencies and fit within the company. Here's what you can expect in both types of interviews: Technical Interview for Interns: The technical interview is focused on your academic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and any relevant internship or project experience. Depending on your area of study (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science), the questions will be tailored accordingly. What to Expect: 1. Core Subject Questions: Engineering Interns: You may be asked about core subjects like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, or reservoir engineering, depending on your field. Computer Science/Software Interns: Questions may involve coding, algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving. You could also be asked to solve coding challenges. Other Technical Fields: Expect questions related to your major and its relevance to SLB's operations (e.g., geology, electrical engineering, etc.). 2. Projects/Internship Experience: Be prepared to discuss any academic projects or internships you have done in detail. Explain your role, how you approached the problem, and what you learned. 3. Problem-Solving Questions: You might be given technical scenarios or problems to solve on the spot. This could include anything from designing a system to optimizing a process. 4. Field-Specific Knowledge: For roles related to oil and gas, there might be questions about the industry, oil field services, or drilling operations. 5. Basic Coding Skills (for IT roles): If applying for a software-related internship, you could face coding exercises on platforms like HackerRank or be asked to write code live during the interview. Preparation Tips: Revise your academic coursework, especially subjects related to the job you’re applying for. Be ready to explain technical concepts and your project work. Practice problem-solving and coding (if applicable to your field). --- HR Interview for Interns: The HR interview typically assesses your soft skills, cultural fit, and motivation for applying to SLB. It’s also a chance for the interviewer to gauge how well you might fit into the company’s culture and work environment. What to Expect: 1. General Background Questions: Questions like “Tell me about yourself” or “Walk me through your resume” are common. Be prepared to discuss your academic achievements, any internships or projects, and your career aspirations. 2. Why SLB? Expect questions about why you want to work at Schlumberger. Demonstrating knowledge of the company’s work

      Interview

The interview process typically involves multiple stages designed to assess a candidate's qualifications, skills, and fit for a specific role within an organization. Stages of the Interview Process Application Submission: Candidates begin by submitting their resumes and cover letters to express interest in a job opening. This initial step often involves tailoring application materials to match the job description. 1 Initial Screening: HR professionals or recruiters review applications to identify candidates who meet the basic qualifications. This may include a preliminary phone interview to confirm details about the candidate's background and interest in the position. 2 First Interview: Candidates who pass the initial screening are typically invited for a first interview, which may be conducted via phone, video call, or in person. This interview often lasts 30-60 minutes and focuses on assessing the candidate's qualifications, skills, and cultural fit through behavioral and situational questions. 2 Technical/Skills Assessment: Depending on the role, candidates may be required to complete a skills assessment or test to evaluate their technical abilities relevant to the job. 1 Second Interview: Successful candidates from the first interview may be invited for a second, more in-depth interview, often with the hiring manager or a panel of interviewers. This stage allows for a deeper exploration of the candidate's experience and how they can contribute to the organization. 2 Final Interview: In some cases, candidates may meet with senior leadership or decision-makers in a final interview. This stage often focuses on assessing the candidate's long-term fit within the company and their alignment with organizational goals. 1 Job Offer & Negotiation: If selected, candidates receive a job offer, which may involve negotiations regarding salary, benefits, and other terms of employment. 2 Reference Checks: Employers may conduct reference checks to verify the candidate's background and qualifications before finalizing the hiring decision. 1

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SLB (Yakarta) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Applied via the official website. The recruiter reached out 3 weeks later and allowed me to pick my own schedule. I had my HR interview (10 mins) and 3 days later i made to the a user interview (20 mins). Tips for the interview: Just be yourself and genuine with your answers. Treat the interview like a conversations but in a professional way and don't forget to show off your values. Unfortunately, i haven't received any updates or feedback since then. I expected better professional standards from a multinational company like SLB. Ghosting candidates is disrespectful and leaves a poor impression of their recruitment culture. Please improve and fix that.
