I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at SLB (Aberdeen, Escocia) in Jan 2011
Interview
First I registred my CV online. After about 1 week, I got an email where I was invited to an assessment center in Stavanger 1 week later.
I had to wake up at 04.00 to take a flight to Stavanger. When we got there, we started by picking our favourite colour. Each color representated a thing we have to do, either sing a song, dance a dance, say our favourite movie or tell what was in your pocket/purse. Then we got a presentation of Schlumberger and a tour at the base. After this we had a group excercise where we were supposed to build a life size house out of 20 sheets of paper and scotch tape. Then we had a mathematical, mechanical and IQ test, each lasted 30 minutes. Then we went back to the hotel, before we went out to eat dinner.
The next day we all had presentations which we had prepared beforehand at home. It was a presentation about ourselves which should last for 7 minutes. It was really important that we didn't use more or less time. Then we were asked questions by five guys from Schlumberger in front of everybody. In the end we had one-one interviews. Here we also had to build up a device that consisted of about 15 pieces.
All in all it was a really good experience. The people from Schlumberger were really nice, and the 14 other guys that were at the assessment center were also really nice. It was very demanding, and when I got home after the second day, I slept like a baby :)
I think it is important to be honest and friendly and to be yourself.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Where do you see yourself in Schlumberger after 5 years?
1st round interview included short technical question, and telling about myself and the projects I worked on.
Not difficult/or hard, but just need to explain well enough to tell the logic process
It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions
