I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Roche
Interview
I didnt apply for this job— a recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn for a phone screening because he found my profile and thought I’d be a good fit. Everything up till after the phone interview with the hiring manager went well, but things got weird right when I was supposed to schedule the on-site. The recruiter got my availability for the onsite interview but then I didn’t hear back for 2 weeks. I followed up with him and he told me that they are changing something about the job posting and that I’ll find out in a few days. The next day I got an email that said the position had been canceled ?? Seems like a total scam or ruse to gain interest in the company or something. Please don’t waste people’s time like that.
Also— after discussing salary expectations with the recruiter, I can confirm the Glassdoor reviews that say Roche does NOT offer competitive salaries. For a level 2 systems engineer in San Jose, this salary range was set at 75-85k. That’s 20-30k less than average. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t pursued as a candidate (I was honest and said this range is on the low side for me) but if so they didn’t have to lie and say position was “canceled”
