Interview
The firm is experiencing re-org, the hiring process is terribly long. I had great and friendly conversation with HR and Line Manager in the first few rounds of interview, then I was called to fly to Shanghai (on my own expense) to interview with the Director, which turns out to be a nightmare.
This female director treated the candidate in a very abusive and rude manner, lack of professionalism and basic respect to both me and the line manager. Even worse, this director is obviously a mess on logical/strategic forward thinking.
Clearly they didn't quite figure out about what to do with this position and what qualification they want to find in the candidate since the market is changing dramatically in last 2 years, and even more severe in last few months.
It is not hard to imagine how miserable to work under such supervision. The line manager is the last reason I didn't withdraw the application at interview site.
China pharma market is changing, the old ways to do the business and treat junior employees may not work in the future, and those born in 90s won't buy in the out-dated value held by senior local management people. Roche is still a science oriented firm, and China won't be an exception any more.

It was a horrible experience. If the leaders of an organisation are so self consumed, good luck with the future of this company. Kuddos to those who achieved a position but they forget to respect diversity and differences.
