I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rippling in Oct 2022
Interview
All scheduling contact was handled via email, and all interviews were handled via video conference. Recruiter initially contacted my within 2 weeks of my initial application, and held a brief 20 minute call to go over the position, my compensation expectations, and my overall experience to ensure that I was a good fit. The following day, the recruiter scheduled a meeting with the hiring manager for the position. The hiring manager asked several questions about my experience, with a focus on handling clients and relationship building. Some specifics were around navigating through product bugs, and prioritizing client demands. Also asked about personality traits which make for a good technical account manager. The interview was held to a very strict time limit, and although conversation was going well, the interviewer had a hard stop. Within a few days, recruiter emailed into inform me that that I would not be receiving an offer.

Question 1
What are three skills that make for a successful account manager?

Interview
The process is streamlined and timely. The first interview is with a recruiter and is a simple screening interview, and the second interview was scheduled with the hiring manager and was a cultural fit and job responsibilities interview (the hiring manager was lovely). Next was homework (a deck), followed by the third interview which was a presentation and then a wrap up with immediate feedback (I really appreciated the on-the-spot feedback). A week later, I received an email from the recruiter asking for a few dates/times this week that I would be available to connect for a few minutes. with subject line: Rippling Update! It was a rejection call! I know that some feel a call is more personal, but just pick up the phone and call (or send an email notifying the candidate that they are no longer being considered and offer a feedback call)! Your candidates are already anxiety ridden from the process and stress of their job search - this adds unnecessary anxiety. Had it been a positive call, okay cool - but it wasn't. Overall, all of the people I met with and spoke to were great, and the product is definitely a worthy unicorn. I was quite concerned, however, after reading the many reviews on here regarding WLB, so maybe this was a blessing in disguise.
