      Help Desk Technician Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Ricoh (Arlington, VA) in Sep 2014

      Interview

Applied online through company website. Was emailed to setup a phone interview about a month and half after I applied. The phone interview was done through a third party and was more of a question and answer where the interviewer would just record your responses. Almost sounded like a fake person or machine. Was not able to engage in any type of conversation. Was emailed from the help desk supervisor to setup an in person interview about 3-4 weeks later. In person interview was great. Very informal. Interview questions were basic about background. The second part of the interview was an hardware and Microsoft windows test on troubleshooting. No internet connection, adjusting screen resolution, enabling pointer functions. Hardware portion consisting of identifying various hardware components, CPU heat sink, cmos battery, ram, hardrive, video card, etc, and then making the connections to attach everything in a desktop case which had been previously taken apart.
