Definitely one of the worst interview processes I have experienced.
I applied to the Revcelerator Paralegal role and was really excited due to the varied nature of the role and the development it offered.
I applied and got an interview, the ‘screen call’, the only slot available being for 6:30am.
I was on time for the interview, tested my mic and camera on both my laptop and Google meet.
The interviewer was 5 minutes late however I did not have an issue with this, she then proceeded to say that she could not hear me even though the blue audio indicator on Google meets had moved in accordance to the volume of my voice every time I spoke. I offered to leave the meeting and join in again, however before doing so I tested my mic with both Google meet and on my laptop settings and again no issues. She said she still could not hear me (an issue I was beginning to think was on her end) she stated she will reissue a booking link in that moment (she said she will reissue it “now”) and can reschedule the interview. This all happened within 4-5 minutes of her actually joining the call, and 30 minutes had been allocated to the interview, therefore I couldn’t understand the rush to just leave the meeting. Without waiting for me to confirm or even checking to see the issue was on her end, she left the meeting. Again, this all took place within 4-5 minutes of her joining the meeting.
A few hours had passed and the link hadn’t beeen reissued, I chased up on two email addresses that were available to me, one to the individual who had organised the meeting and the other to the interviewer herself, asking as to whether they could reissue the link.
A day had passed, and I had received an email from the interviewer, stating that she had enjoyed “getting to know” me and my background and that she hoped she answered any questions I had about the role. However I was not a fit for the role, and rejected me for the role. I replied stating we did not speak nor get the chance to actually even commence the interview, the whole call had ended within 4-5 minutes and not once did we actually speak to one another and had requested the opportunity to actually commence the interview. However, I had no responses, it was a very negative and poorly managed interview process with no regard for the time and actual capabilities a prospective applicant has to offer.
