I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Pfizer
Interview
Day 1 - Recruiter- 8 minutes phone talk, on why interested in the role, salary expectations ($11,000), whether need visa support (no). I asked when I could expect to hear back, was told within a week
Day 1 - heard from hiring manager/principle scientist, set up a meeting for day 2
Day 2 - 30 minutes phone talk with hiring manager. Some technical questions, some behavioral questions. We really hit it off.
Day 6 - got email asking for title of panel presentation.
Day 7 - got email about panel interview schedule
Day 24 or so - panel interview, presentation. My computer screen went dark in the last 30 minutes. I got distracted trying to switch to another computer. Hiring manager was visibly disappointed. Later heard from the person who sent me the referral that the directors preferred the other candidate who had more experience than I did. Even though the hiring manager advocated for me my computer multination didn’t help. Not likely getting the job.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Pfizer (Pearl River, NY) in Mar 2022
Interview
The interview process was straightforward. Applied on Pfizer website, technical recruiter reached out the following day to schedule a preliminary phone conversation. The conversation was about 20 minutes long. The purpose of the phone call seemed to be determining my level of interest in the job, need of H1B visa, relocation needs. The recruiter went over the job and talked about the work site. He asked a couple questions about my technical experience.
About 5 weeks later, the hiring manager scheduled a WebEx meeting with me for the following day. It lasted about an hour. The conversation was about mainly about the technical aspect of the job and how my skills could fit in. The conversation was closed with an invitation to do an "onsite" interview (WebEx due to Covid policy).
A week from that I interviewed via WebEx, and a week after that I accepted an offer. Total time from application to accepting offer was about 6 weeks.
The WebEx "onsite" interview was about 5 hours long. It had the usual structure of chatting with the hiring manager and his colleagues. I presented a 45 minute seminar on research I'd done. Conversations with the team members were 25 minutes long, with a 5 minute break between sessions.
The WebEx "onsite" interview was well planned. The only problem I ran into was poor quality audio during a few sessions. The audio quality seemed to be the worst when three interviewers were sitting around a laptop talking with me. No idea what the problem was but I hardly understood anything they were saying to me. I had to ask them to repeat themselves multiple times and often still didn't know what I was being asked. Thankfully they knew the audio quality was very poor on their end. A couple conversations in which solo interviewers were using bluetooth headphones also had audio problems. The sound seemed to keep cutting out when they were speaking.
