I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pearson (Toronto, ON) in May 2016
Interview
The process began with me applying on LinkedIn for a contract opportunity. I then received a phone screening, and a personality test from HR. Following my completion of this, I received an initial 1:1 interview request with one of the managers at Don Mills. The interview went well, and some time later I received a second interview request where I met with a senior manager as well as the VP of the department. The questioning was very much centered around my abilities and ideas surrounding electronic learning materials.
The timing of the interview process was pretty par for large companies, but it seemed like I spoke to a needlessly large amount of people. Individually. In fact 6 in total. 3 from HR, 2 of which were specifically by email or on the phone, and then the third HR person once I was offered the job. The other 3 were the managers I spoke about. Normally, all of these representatives are present in a group/panel format. However, i wouldn't let that get in the way of Pearson as it is a good place to work, but has many big business tropes like redundant process requirements. Easily one of the most casual work environments I have ever encountered.
Per the question posed below, i was actually told that some people couldn't answer it properly. I gave an answer focusing on the customer which served me well, but i'll refrain from posting the exact verbiage.
