I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pearson (Minneapolis, MN) in Jul 2016
Interview
Started out will online application process. Was then followed up with by recruiter to see if i wanted to meet hiring manager. Met hiring manager out at motel by Mall of America. We had a nice chat, no formal interview process--simply a manager's opinion of you. Not behavioral base questions either. Interview went well until very end when was told next step, if I got there, would be a trail run as field sales rep--go out to college, find professors, and then create report. I told interviewer that i didn't think I could commit to doing that--you know, since I have a job already. Seems like a ridiculous process to find sales people. Especially adults. I wasn't that desperate--and they turned me down a few days later.
I applied through other source. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Pearson
Interview
After a phone interview and a few emails, a face to face was quickly arranged. They wanted to fill the position rather quickly. When finally had an in person interview, was not told it would be with more than one person in the room.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"When did you graduate college?" When this is the first question of the interview, following handshakes, you should walk away. This is just a ploy to find out how old you are. If you are over 40, or have an extensive resume only showing the last 10 years but are obviously a "seasoned" worker, I, and several labor attorneys find this very inappropriate.
