It was a quick and efficient process. The recruiter was very friendly and responsive. Managers were mindful of prospective hirees' time. The interviews were fairly standard. You get a chance to speak to various members of the team which is helpful in the decision making.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Oracle (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2012
Interview
Day long interview but with good, respectful people who turned into colleagues. Flew me down and put me up in a hotel, and got a tour of the facilities. Was really impressed and wanted the job on the spot.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Oracle (Santa Clara, CA) in Sep 2008
Interview
I was referred in by an employee who spoke highly of Oracle and thought I would fit in. While every large company has its issues with beaurocracy and politics, the people I met seemed to cut to the chase and, as long as you're in HQ, you can get involved in strategy and larger decisions. People worked hard and were in the office late.
The interviews focused on what I had done and was interested in doing and determining whether it would be a good fit. I felt like they were very interested in cultural fit which was a positive but the all the questions were very simple and didn't really focus on my capabilities and problem-solving capability.
