I applied online. I interviewed at Octopus Energy (Leicester, Inglaterra) in Aug 2017
Interview
The interview process I went through involved an initial talk with an agency, then a face to face interview, then two online tests.
The agency involved was absolutely wonderful by being extremely helpful and easy to talk to. They provided information about the company and advice on how to succeed at interview, which I took on-board.
The interview itself was fantastic. The two members of Octopus Energy who interviewed me were both very welcoming and were interested in what I had to say. They were also very informative, ambitious and relaxed, which appealed to me as a recent graduate. We were able to have a general conversation in a relaxed environment for an hour or so which was great. I would have happily had a chat for longer.
I received an offer for the Graduate Energy Specialist role after this process. However, I was then diagnosed with anxiety, and through the process after interview understood that the role was not for me. Throughout the entire process after the job offer, Octopus were extremely helpful and understanding, which really stood out to me as other companies would not have been nearly as understanding about mental health issues and the different decisions I was making. The member of staff I was discussing the issues with was extremely empathetic and really tried to offer me everything that they could to make the process easier for me.
Overall, I would highly recommend Octopus as a company. I could tell just by meeting the employees that I did that they are a very fun, optimistic and understanding company. They're also going to be extremely successful in the future, because they’re incredibly ambitious and really want to make a difference in the energy sector by helping customers. Alongside this, the way they acted after I'd told them about my mental health was exceptional. Anyone who wants to work for a company with a fantastic mentality about mental health, and understanding employees- go for these guys.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Octopus Energy (Manchester, Inglaterra) in Jun 2022
Interview
The interview process comprised of three stages;
My first interview was on google hangout with Laura from Instant Impact on the 19th of June, which lasted around 20 minutes. It was a brief discussion to get to know me and too see if I was interested in the role as well as what my prior work experiences consisted of. Laura kept it very conversational and made a relaxing environment.
After this two psychometric tests had to be completed verbal and numerical. Although these tests were not too challenging it is best to practise and give yourself the best chance!
On the 26th June I was then invited to the discovery day where a group research task as well as an individual interview was conducted. Prior to this Laura gave some pointers of things to research and things to be prepared to talk about which was incredibly helpful! This interview was very organic whereby questions were asked based on what I mentioned rather than following a script. This gave me the chance to talk about what interested in my company and really talk about the skills have I have obtained that would be fit for this role.
After this I was invited to a final interview in the Manchester Offices on the 31st of July, which lasted around 20 minutes. This involved questions about Octopus and my prior experiences at both work and University. This was a very relaxed interview where the questions flowed naturally. I left the office really wanting the job!
I was offered the job by the end of the same day. It was a great experience and everyone involved including those from Octopus and Laura from Instant Impact.

Interview
I appplied to the Manchester branch and was contacted by Tayla from Instant Impact. who was amazing throughout the entire process and I can’t thank her enough. First she scheduled a phone interview with myself and then a video interview. She then sent over a maths and English test. Once this was passed she put me onto the discovery day, and before hand prepped me with everything I would need. The discovery day was very interesting and interactive. After this I was then told i had reached the last interview stage. Overall, Tayla was amazing and the whole experience was very enjoyable! Thank you Tayla.

Interview
I applied on Indeed and I was contacted by Tayla, my allocated talent partner the next day. We had an initial screening over the phone in which she told me a little about the role and the company. Tayla arranged a video interview with me for the next day. I got through this stage and completed a verbal and numerical reasoning test (they are difficult, especially maths, so definitely take time to revise) which I passed. The next stage was a discovery day with Octopus. This is a 3/3.5 hour day on zoom where you do different activities and at the end have a 1-2-1 interview with an octopus employee. If you are successful with this, you have another interview with Octopus to learn about you and why you want to work for Octopus. If successful, you get offered the job. It is a difficult at times but rewarding process and the discovery day was actually really fun. Tayla was amazing the whole way through and so helpful - she ensured I was prepared every step and happy the whole time and reminded me I could contact her whenever with a query. Thank you so much Tayla!
