I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Fargo, ND) in Oct 2014
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter on Linkedin. I conducted a phone interview about a week later, I thought I did pretty bad, but I got an email saying they wanted to fly me out to Fargo, ND for a final interview.
I was flown out, and Microsoft paid for everything, rental, flight, hotel, food, etc... First night they picked up all of us (about 30) and took us for dinner, there was an open bar. The next day the group was split between morning and evening interviews. I had 4 Interviews, each between 30-45 mins. All were behavioral type interviews. The interviewers were really nice. Some people had technical interviews as well. Ranging from SQL to Programming. We were fed lunch and snacks.
I was called the next day and told that I wasn't being given an offer.
The interview process consisted of 3 rounds, 2 technical, 1 Managerial round. Technical rounds focused on what you have mentioned in the resume, so be well prepared for it. Technical round was bit tough.
