I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company
Interview
First round was the problem solving test or PST.
Second round was two one hour case interviews. Interviews were interviewer led. Began with about 10 minutes of fit questions then the case, there were about 5 questions in the case including a numerical component. Nothing that you wouldn't expect.
Everyone that I dealt with was extremely friendly and welcoming. Interviewers try to put you at ease and did not attempt to throw curveballs or play mind games. Atmosphere in the office is very intellectual and quite informal. A trend among all employees is that they are interesting, engaging people to talk to and have great people skills so this is definitely a trait that they look for. They are also very passionate about the job and are great at selling it to you. Overall it was a positive experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The cases were pretty standard McKinsey fare if you've done your preparation. The maths questions required you to be extremely clear on what you actually wanted to accomplish the actual calculations were easy. Fit questions were: Time when you've convinced a group and time when you've been in a group that has had a conflict.
I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Interview was a straightforward case study, and a McKinsey-specific Personal Experience Interview. This was difficult but I was able to prepare, so it was not too challenging after preparation. The team was very kind throughout the process and I was able to request information on the interview style ahead of time.

Question 1
Tell me about a challenge and how you overcame it?
Passed the online test and then had a round 1 interview. I got a rejection call shortly after. Interviews were a mix of behavioral and technical. Difficulty depends on difficulty of case.
I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (New York, NY)
Interview
Positive experience until the super day. The scheduling was quite long and they gave me a month's gap between my previous round and my final round. But overall everyone speaks eloquently and thinks logically. My interactions with senior partners are also very positive; they ask insightful, probing questions and were encouraging throughout the interview. I thought I smashed it, but one of the partners called me the other day and rejected me.
