I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Malwarebytes
Interview
Had 4 steps. They needed to go upto 4 interviews to understand they have a candidate who has similar experience which more suited for this job. They should understand it by their second interview without wasting my time and proceed with that candidate. I dont mind not having that job but interview people should have more responsibility about others candidates energy and time. We all are working people!

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Malwarebytes (Lisboa, Lisboa) in Mar 2025
Interview
I had an interview with HR and the with the Director of Product Design.
As part of their evaluation, I was required to complete a home assignment that involved multiple hours of work (5-6 hours according to their description but it was worth way longer) and submit an open Figma file, essentially handing over my designs without protection. Of course, the task was about their application and how to improve a section of it. After completing the task and investing my time and effort, I was rejected with vague, generic feedback—ironically, the same way they described my work.
This raises serious ethical concerns. It appears that Malwarebytes may be using the hiring process to collect free labor and ideas from candidates without any intention of hiring them. If a company truly values talent, they should compensate candidates for substantial work assignments or, at the very least, provide detailed, meaningful feedback that justifies their decision.
Job seekers, be cautious when applying here. If you’re asked to do unpaid work beyond a reasonable assessment, think twice before proceeding. Companies that exploit candidates' time and expertise should be held accountable.
