I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (San Diego, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Met one of their software engineers at my University career fair, he liked my personal projects and asked for a short phone call. Their recruiter talked to me first but she didn't have technical experience, so I gave her a high level description of my projects and was asked to give more detail which was hard considering she didn't know/understand the technologies involved.
I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2016
Interview
I met the recruiter at a Hackathon Event. We came the first place at the hackathon. He wanted us to apply for Macy's Software Development Internship. After that we exchanged emails and I sent my resume via email. After that I received two phone interviews. They were a little bit challenging but fine if you are confident with algorithms and data structures

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (New York, NY) in Sep 2015
Interview
The process started with meeting with HR and then meeting with the hiring manager. This is definitely my preference in order to have a feel for the company and maybe a better idea of what the hiring manager is looking for. HR was very welcoming and friendly. The hiring manager was also very easy to talk to.
