The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Bridgewater, NJ) in Apr 2008
Interview
Applying to Macy's was a very straightforward experience. There seems to be a high turnover rate but opportunities to make commission based on which department you work in.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Providence, RI) in Jul 2010
Interview
They were very disorganized. I got there and had a one on one with a representative and then i waited half am hour to talk to the hiring manager. They had a bunch of questions they were just reading off. Really the past sales experience is necessary. They were pretty nice though and offered the job on the spot. It was a non negotiable salary. I think they were a little snooty.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Macy's in Jul 2010
Interview
The interview process was basically answering sales question and how would I describe a sales from start to finish. I was caught off guard because I never really worked with customers. My work experience has been fast food in the kitchen, so I really could not describe the finishing part. I guess I would do more research and or watch how some sales associates do their job.
