I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Lees Summit, MO) in Nov 2014
Interview
They asked me to come for the interview for Lancome counter manager post. My resume clearly showed that i was not the right candidate for the job as i had no previous experience for the similar job. I also applied for other seasonal part time and part time jobs for the sales associate post but was never calledfor the interview. The guy who was interviewing me was very intimidating. He found out in the first few minutes of our interview that i was a misfit but kept on asking me questions about different scenarios as a manager. I had to answer i do not know for one question as i had not been in that kind of situation before and i did not really know the company's policies. I did not grt the job. Got an email 3 days after the interview informing me about the declined offer.

Question 1
How are you going to motivate a team member when you are not present at the counter?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's (Roseville, CA) in May 2014
Interview
I applied online to be a Clinique Counter Manager. Basic online application with personality test. After a couple days I received an email to schedule an interview online. I went in for my interview a week later. The email directed me where to go and when I got there I had to find someone to talk to. They told me to wait at the end of the hallway where my interviewer was at least ten minutes late. She took me to a private room. I did not like the vibes of this woman. She was standoffish and seemed snobby. I'll admit I'm not very good at interviews since I have not been on many but I was very qualified for this job since I have been in the cosmetics department of a drug store for 8 years and a manager of the department for 4. I told her I am cross trained and often split my time in four different departments including photo and pharmacy and that I would be very excited to be able to focus my time and manage the cosmetics counter and she seemed to take that as me hating multi tasking. And then she mentioned that the hours would be constantly changing and I would be close opening a lot as well as being on call and floating between all departments in the store. Apparently I was not interviewing for counter manager after all? In response to one of her questions I said we had a new girl that was shy that I was doing well to bring her out of her shell and she was becoming a good sales person. She was outraged that they would higher a shy girl. Umm sorry I don't do the highering but did you hear me say I was successfully training her? This lady frustrated me so much I just gave up! It didn't go well, I didn't hear back and I didn't try to contact them. Someone eventually called me to offer me a job three weeks later and I didn't even bother.

Question 1
How would you tell a customer about a product if you know nothing about it? I said you read the information on the package. She said that was good and most people get that question wrong.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Macy's (Atlanta, GA)
Interview
Recruited by former supervisor. Interviewed with the store manager and then the account coordinator and account executive. Had a lot of experience in cosmetics and counter management so the interview process was more of a get to know you now vs. your management style from the past.
