I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Lloyds Banking Group in Jan 2015
Interview
The process begins with the filling in of an application form. This form is very basic compared to other companies' graduate schemes with no motivational/competency questions to fill out. This is followed by a Strengths and Cultural Assessment, a numerical reasoning test and an inductive reasoning test. You are given seven days to complete each one. You are then asked to complete a video interview, again within seven days. This interview is fairly basic and consists of twelve questions. You are given thirty seconds to read and think about your answer and ninety seconds to answer it. These questions include standard ones such as 'Why Lloyds Banking Group?' and 'Why have this programme?', but are mostly comprised of strengths-based ones. You can stop recording at anytime once you have finished answering. Before the assessment centre, once you have confirmed your attendance, you are asked to prepare a five minute presentation. The assessment centre itself is half a day in length and at mine there were nine candidates. You are required to complete a short writing exercise, comprised of two separate questions. There is also a fifty minute interview component that is made up of three sections: motivational, technical and strengths/competencies. This interview is 1 on 1 and follows a set format. Each candidate also takes part in a group exercise (they split the contingent in two for mine) and then has to deliver their presentation to an assessor. The presentation is very carefully timed, and they will stop you after exactly five minutes. You can then expect some questions on the presentation. Everyone attending the assessment centre receives a feedback email a few weeks later.
