Interview
First step was numeracy and verbal reasoning tests; second was a cultural assessment. Thirdly I had a video based interview. You were given given a question with 30 seconds to prepare a 1 minute 30 second answer. I found this very challenging as it felt awkward to stop before 1 minute 30 and hard to time your answer exactly. It asks for no background noise and my computer has a noisy fan, which didnt help. Felt very remote and quite difficult to get your personality across when you are talking to a computer.

Online test includes the group strengths and cultural assessment and numerical reasoning tests, then the video interview and finally the assessment centre. Just be well prepared and stick to the lloyds company value will be helpful. The video interview questions can be prepared from the email that lloyds sent to you and also from the Glassdoor.

Interview
- The first round was the standard online application procedure (CV, culture & numerical reasoning test)
- The second round was a video interview, which took approx. 30 minutes, asking motivational questions as to why you want to join LBG and why the specific graduate scheme you've applied for as well as competency based questions around communication skills, team player etc.
- The final round was an assessment centre, the so called "Innovation Lab", which included 4 different exercises: 1-1 interview (divided into 3 categories: motivational, competency based and technical), written exercise (6 questions, which you need to answer within 20 minutes), group exercise (about ways in which LBG can become the best bank for customers) and finally a pitch presentation, which you need to prepare prior to the assessment centre (about an idea or product you would implement in order for LBG to become the best bank for customers).
While assessment centres are always nerve-wrecking, I calmed down very quickly as the LBG staff who interviewed me throughout the day was very friendly, helpful and made me feel at ease. All in all, a very positive experience and a very friendly atmosphere!
Advice to anyone applying: DO YOUR RESEARCH, I cannot stress this enough!! make sure you know LBG inside out (especially in regards to the scheme you have applied to)! It will help to know about challenges vis-a-vis financial institutions (and how Lloyds has attempted to tackle these), LBG's strategy, products etc. etc. and make sure to incorporate LBG's values and vision at all times!!
Only negative point: I personally felt that the group exercise was the most challenging as the assessors included a new challenge that had to be tackled every 90 seconds (added to the main task of the group).. this unfortunately created a somewhat stressful, competitive and slightly aggressive atmosphere, which made it difficult to demonstrate team player qualities.
