I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger (Fort Worth, TX) in Mar 2014
Interview
The interview process was a little long only because it was a hiring event which I got hired on the spot, so that was worth the long process. There were all types of different people there attempting to obtain a position with this company. The administrators were very prepared and patient with all the commotion going on. They took time to talk to each applicant and answered any questions asked. They even stayed to assist anyone who needed a little help on the computer for testings such as any elderly person, which I found to be commendable.

Interview
I applied online and was called in for an interview soon after. I met with the front end manager. I was a little overdressed and eager because it was my first job. I was in college and they didn't ask for much experience to be a cashier. I was mostly working with high school students. They loved my personality, I took the employment tests and training that same day and they put me on the schedule. They took an oral swab for a drug test and that was about it. I filled out the usual paperwork for taxes and my banking information.
