KPMG Senior Manager interview questions

Met with a partner and then with others. The interview was rather informal and I appreciated that. HR was in the background. I was an employee referral. This was in 1996,

First round - Introduction with HR and Hiring manager Second round - A lot tests , numerical, abstract reasoning and personality Third round - case study ( had to prepare something on spot) I passed with flying colors all the rounds. Unfortunately round 3 folks interviewing were very biased and were very clearly threatened to have someone like myself come on their team. They had half the work experience I did. Even though they said I aced the interview/case study. Next day they say - it was not a ace. They made up stuff as they could not match the salary and have someone on team who would bring another perspective. Overall very negative experience. Lot of effort to go through all the work, tests, only be declined because they can't match your salary or have someone who is potentially more capable and can bring a lot of value
