I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Sep 2019
Interview
0. Phone Screen: They did ask for current salary and expected salary
1. Coding Interview: 2 LeetCode easy questions and 1 Data Science question
2. Business Interview: 3 questions about what you would do in a given scenario ("how to spot fake reviews")
3. Onsite Interview: 5 x 45-minute interviews and lunch
4. Hiring Manager: 30-minute call with hiring manager
I had read elsewhere that the hiring manager interview was more like "here's a project we have, are you interested in it?" kind of thing. That reviewer said he got an offer later the same day.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Onsite interview: LinkedIn bought Lynda a while ago. How would you merge Indeed with an e-learning site? Follow-up questions.
Onsite Interview: Two of the interviewers came in, read my resume on the spot, and just asked me questions based on that. I think the biggest challenge was holding a 45 minute conversation with two people who seemed a little tired.
Hiring Manager Interview:
This person was very obviously reading from a script and typing notes on my responses.
1. Tell me a little about yourself.
2. What are you currently working on?
2.1 What exactly did you do on that? (Quite specific here, some follow-ups)
2.2 Tell me a technical challenge that you encountered and how you worked around it.
3. Why are you interested in Indeed?
4. Do you have any questions for me?
It was via a zoom call, and I was asked some string manipulation questions and some data science related stuff. The questions weren't too hard if you prepare for the questions listed in other Glassdoor reviews.
