It's all about networking and referrals. I was referred by a manager that I was going to work for at another retailer. Since I was getting hired by a brand new location, the interview process was a bit different but overall a great experience.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gucci (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
Interview with all levels of management. Interviews were spaced over a few weeks. Management was nice, and excited about their roles. I left each interview feeling very excited, and eager to take next steps.

Interview
I emailed my resume and had a scheduled interview fairly quickly. The store manager in my opinion was very unprofessional and not prepared for the interview. Not sure if she was put off by appearance instantly but i drove 30 min on my day off for her to tell me before we even started the process the position had already been filled. She asked about 4 questions and said it was a pleasure meeting me as was on about her day. We also had my "interview" in a commons area because she didn't take the time to clean her office beforehand. Having a large background in high end retail i thought it was very odd of her to not really prepare a interview or at least give a courtesy email/phone call to let me know i was going to "chat" about a role that was no longer available.
