1. Phone Screen
2. Phone Interview
3. 3 On-site Interviews
Overall everyone was extremely friendly. You always feel welcomed! Had a great time!
I arrived in Dublin the day before and had a look around the city. Had the interviews the next day and flew back on the same date.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Dublín, Dublín) in Jun 2016
Interview
My process with Google consisted of the following three steps:
1. Phone Screen: 30-minute casual conversation with the recruiter over the phone. Questions were mostly related to the role and my former experiences. After 20 minutes, the recruiter sent me through to the next round.
2. Team Interview: 45-minute interview with a team member from SMB sales. The first 20 minutes was a mock case, simulating a task you would have in real life. The remaining part was clearly behavioural with questions about teamwork, problem-solving, etc. Got an email three days later inviting me to Dublin for onsite interviews.
3. Onsite Interviews: three separate interviews, between 30-45 minutes in length. Two of them with team members already in the position, one with the future manager. Each interview had a different topic, which was given before my travels. Before each interview started, they would inform me specifically what they were looking for in the interview. After onsites, got a phone call three days later informing me that Google did not see a great role-fit for me in sales and decided not to progress in the particular role, but would keep my profile if a better match appears.
All in all, Google handled everything really well. They prepare you really well for all interviews and communication was pretty swift. In terms of travelling to Dublin, their process was great! It virtually took me less than two minutes to fill out the travel form, and from there they just take care of everything. I am, of course, sad about the outcome of the interviews, but Google's process was really great!
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Dublín, Dublín) in Mar 2016
Interview
Got in contact over a university event with Google.
1. Telephone Interview with HR
2. Sales Pitch with someone of the team
3. On-site interview with 3 different people. 2 from the team and someone outside) All four criterias (googliness, leadership skills, logical thinking and job skills) got examed. It was always a very nice atmosphere and everyone was trying to make me as comfortable a s possible. They will test if you actually prepared for the role. However, I had the feeling that the most important thing was me as a person. They mentioned it all the time, that they can teach me anything, but I have to fit into the team and Google.
The first interview was standard. the seond was quite challenging as I had to inform me about the Google products and know them enough to explain them to anyone and be able to adapt to inputs of the client.
The third one was hard as it was 3h straight. However, I like it, as I had the feeliing that the main thing was to get to know me really well.
The only real downside was that it took them really long. Especially after the last interview I had to wait 3 days to get the answer and then another 2 weeks til I got a response from the boarder who does the final decision.
