I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Austin, TX) in Sep 2022
Interview
I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY PRODUCT MANAGER APPLY TO THE “PRODUCT MANAGER - ERG” ROLE. You’re better off looking for a specific role opening or perhaps even better would be to look at another company altogether. This was an absolute, colossal waste of time.
All interviews were just standard product management questions. No presentations.
The issue is I passed all the interviews but this role is one they were specifically trying something new where they would interview first and then match the candidate with a team/role after. In my case, they suddenly had no team to actually put me in. Apparently there were several when I started the process and none once I finished, so no official offer on paper despite the decision that I was a qualified candidate. They say they will waitlist me for the next opening in the next 6 months, but I won’t hold my breath.

Tell me about a project you led that failed and what lessons you learned
It was a wonderful experience and got many new things to learn from this interview experience. Waiting for much more opportunities like this in the upcoming future from the expedia group for providing many more opportunities like this.
I applied online. I interviewed at Expedia Group (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2022
Interview
I received a call from a recruiter for a role I had applied online at Expedia. The recruiter mentioned that the hiring manager is very interested in talking to me and that I would be a good fit for the role. She said she would schedule an interview with the hiring manager soon but never scheduled an interview. I followed up with several emails but never got any response. Interestingly, another recruiter then reached out to me for a very similar role at Expedia. He mentioned the same things as the previous recruiter and again ended up completely ghosting me. This was the most horrible experience in my career where recruiters reach out to you, tell you that they will schedule an interview soon, and then ghost you and never respond to any of your follow up emails. I would never want to work for such a company.
