I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Eaton (Southfield, MI) in Oct 2017
Interview
Interview period extended across 2 months via phone and onsite. The recruiter was quite pleasant and responsive in the beginning, but the process started to unravel over the months. In total, I spent about 10 hours in interviews with the recruiter, the hiring manager, HR Managers, and directors. Many of the people with whom I spoke referred to their culture as being direct and open. 2 of the HR Managers said I was welcome to reach out to them with questions, but they never responded to my follow-up email communication. The hiring manager told me during my onsite interview that he "would hire me" but that it wasn't just his decision. After not hearing from him or the recruiter for a couple weeks following my onsite interview, I called both the recruiter and the hiring manager; neither of whom returned my phone calls. Finally, on November 6th - 2 months from the start of the process - the manager sent me a brief email stating they would be "perusing" a candidate that more closely fits their business needs. So much for the direct and open culture they claim to maintain.
