I applied online. I interviewed at ENGIE in Aug 2017
Interview
Applied online, went through a video interview that was unusual (one-sided, not interactive with the interviewer), and was then contacted to come in for a face-to-face interview. The interview was very conversational and I felt that we clicked in discussing my experience and the role of this position. As the interviewer walked me out, he stated that the next step would be a peer interview with current Manager/Team Leads in the next 2 weeks. Within 30 minutes of leaving the building, the recruiter emailed me to ask what my minimum salary requirement was for the position, as the pay scale was lower than what I listed on my application. Why would you invite someone to go through video and face-to-face interviews if the salary range listed on their application was significantly higher than what the position pays?
Hello,
Thank you for your review - your feedback helps us improve our screening process.
Our application asks for a "desired salary", and if desired salary is within a certain percentage of our budget we give the candidate a chance to interview and negotiate the salary when receiving the offer. Unfortunately it sounds like in your case your desired salary was not negotiable. We are hoping you will continue pursuing other opportunities with ENGIE Insight. We appreciate your interest in careers with us.
