I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Coloplast (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2015
Interview
There was a phone interview and then HR sends you a link to a timed personality assessment and SAT-type test with math, vocabulary, logic, etc. that you are required to complete in under two hours. Then there was an in-person panel interview with the hiring manager and neighboring field rep. Contrary to my usual character, I did not prepare at all for this interview but I have to say the hiring manager and the rep were REALLY outstanding and personable so I certainly regretted not having brought my A-game. They were true unicorns, both free of the usual medical device douche-baggery that is commonly encountered among our peers...I can honestly say anyone who ends up under this manager will be a very lucky individual indeed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Walk us through your resume.
Tons of behavioral, STAR-type questions, for example:
Tell me about a complex sale you made that involved extensive numerical data and analysis.
Tell me about your sales cycle.
Tell me about a time you had to had to spontaneously talk your way out of losing a big chunk of business.
Tell me about a time you had to make a presentation to a group where some of the members had communication challenges.
Really tough questions if you are not prepared and definitely more pharma-styled interview than device. From what I understand, if they fly you to HQ, they really will ask you those questions about the number of gumballs can you fit on a bus the number of windows there are in the city of Minneapolis, MN. Be ready for it! I think those are the same questions asked if you interview with Google, so I would Google "Google Interview Questions That Make Geniuses Feel Dumb" so you are not caught off guard. Good luck!
