I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Coach (Annapolis, MD) in May 2014
Interview
Walked in the store, dressed nicely of course, and asked for a manager. I had a first interview within a week, and a group interview with the DM shortly after.
You want the job? Dress the part. Some people came to the group interview looking crazy. Dress business fashion - if you are second guessing your outfit stick to the formal side. Smile, be nice, don't cut anyone else off while they are answering, and give a mix of business and passion about the brand.
