I was interviewed for an automation job. Had 6 rounds, 1 on Java, 1 on algorithms, 1 on testing, 1 on automation followed by managerial and HR rounds. The interviews took almost 3 hours on an average per round.

I applied this position through employee referral. It was two rounds of panel interviews. Focus mostly on relevant experience, well rounded touching various aspects of the role. After which they asked me for references and I think both the interview and the feedback from references played a key role in the selection process.

the entire process took 3 weeks; apply on line; got HR call the 2nd week; phone interview from the hiring manager the next day; very smooth talk and the manager was happy on the phone; on site interview was scheduled the next week; had 4 individual interviews, each for 30 minutes; mixed of coding question and no coding question. Came home and got phone call from HR the next day and told me they wanted to move forward; got offer the next week. The offer was nice enough and didn't do negotiation.
