I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Jun 2022
Interview
First was Recruiter and then coderpad online assessment and if you pass then virtual onsite. The interviews were easy and straightforward except for this coding round on-site with this specific person, who sucked at conducting interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1st Round - Coderpad, 4 Questions 2 easy, 3rd Medium and 4th Hard
Power Day (on-site) - 4 back to back
1st - System Design - Design Smart Meter for a apartment complex.
2nd - Write code and perform some tasks. Very ambiguous and open ended question and no sample provided. You need to implement some functions. She lied to me that I need not get working code. Not the usual type of algorithmic interview that you would expect. At least define the algorithm. There was this rude and weird women who took this interview. She never answered questions that I asked. She told me that there is no right or wrong to this solution. She was a lead of Test Engineering team and did not know how to conduct interviews. She turned off her camera and whenever I asked her any question she would take her own sweet time to turn on the camera and answer back. She also got up and went away from the laptop for a few mins in the middle of the interview. Capital One please make sure that this women does not conduct anymore interviews.
3rd - Case interview on chat bot. See if there are any changes you make, make it better and stuff
4th - Behavioral, normal questions that are expected.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One in Apr 2022
Interview
I was asked to do the coding assessment on the third party web site (codesignal) which it was an awful experience. had a multiple technical issues during the session, such as, keep prompting weak internet or to be able to submit the question had to click multiple times to be able to go through. Other nerve racking issue was when starting a new question, the cursor was a blinking block and wouldn't let me type anything in IDE, had to try all my keys or combo keys to be able to get blinking bar to be able to type, and every time it was a random key would alter it, it just cost me a times for unnecessary things rather than focusing on the problem.

Interview
Faang process but for a bank really no idea why they took themselves so seriously. Got interviewed for lead position and all the managers that talked with me were with 3-4 years of experience in the industry (at all, not just as managers) . Immature process and intern level interview.

Question 1
Design: Electric meeter system for a residential building:
Coding: Calculate prime numbers
Behavioral: 3 “tell me about a time …” questions
Design: crapy code optimization and benefits of chatbot
The same questions that were asked for the 10 engineering interviews below. No idea why they ask the same question for each interview.
