A recruiting intern reached out to me in Jan. for the role that was open. We had a conversation about the role. She had told me during our talk the position changed to resource coordinator but asked if I was still interested in interviewing. I said I was. There was some confusion about the interview date and time (I never received the interview confirmation) but it worked out for the best. I interviewed with a couple managers, a guy and girl on Jan 16th. I thought the interview went great and even sent a Thank You email. I felt like I hit most of what they were looking to hire with one exception of not having a lot of advanced Excel experience which I knew I could quickly learn. I was told due to hiring freeze they weren’t looking to hire until March 2nd at earliest. I noticed my application status never changed from Under Review and finally in late Feb, I saw the reqs were taken down. I tried to reach out to the recruiter but no response. I then tried to reach out to another one I saw on one of the postings on LinkedIn and again got Ghosted. Today I finally got a template application that they decided not to move forward with my application even though I interviewed for it. Considering this is how the company treats their candidates, it’s probably a good thing I didn’t land the job. Maybe if you’re looking to hire someone with a particular skill, have them do a skills test in advance of the interview instead of surprising someone in an interview session. Just a thought.
