I applied through college or university. I interviewed at CIBC
Interview
I applied through my university career website and was contacted for a phone interview by HR. The team lead then interviewed me and asked me basic non-technical questions like "What do you know about CIBC?", "Tell me about how you added value to a project", "Please explain your level of expertise in such and such"
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC (Mississauga, ON) in Dec 2018
Interview
Phone interview. Quite generic and predictable. Asked questions regarding field of study in undergrad and why I applied for the position. Also asked about transferable skills, strengths and weaknesses, relevant personal experience. Took 10 minutes. Got the offer in about two weeks.

Interview
I applied online through my university for the technology recruitment program. I had to fill out a form rating some of my technical skills. Then they pass on your resume to a team that fits your skills/experience. I got a phone call from HR asking a few simple questions and arranging an interview with the manager. I had the option of a phone interview or in person. I opted for the phone interview. I think the process will differ depending which team you are being interviewed by. In the phone interview they asked standard questions. I didn't think I did very well but shortly after I was called back with an offer.
