      Executive Interview

      Mar 6, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2016

      Interview

Applied for multiple jobs and a recruiter emailed for first screening. We talked over the phone and she was very excited and said she will definitely get back to me by end of the week. she even emphasized that multiple times and I was hoping finally CIBC recruitment team of recruiters are different and know their only responsibility really well and trained to work efficiently. One week went to two and three while I sent couple of follow up emails. No response. She almost disappeared. My question is what other job a recruiter has other than calling people and screening them and send them feedback. This needs to be read by CIBC senior EXEC and specially their recent CEO. You have more than 1000s of opening and your recruitment team seems to be failing to do their job efficiently. It is somehow insulting when a young recruiter tells you you are a good candidate and promise to contact you in a mentioned days and disappear on you. It is wrong, it is insulting, it is rude and it is unprofessional and untrained. Big focus and work is required in this department by CEO and SVP of talen acquisitions. I've heard they treat internal employees not as bad as externals but about the same. Senior Exec, please consider this as constructive feedback to your firm. Training will align and change CIBC recruitment reputation between the banks!
