I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC (Halifax, NS) in Oct 2017
Interview
Received an initial phone call to set up a phone interview an hour after applying. The phone interview was pretty straight forward in terms of what was discussed and asked by the interviewer. I was told I would be contacted for a face to face but actually received an e-mail stating I was no longer applicable for the position. As someone with my mutual funds license, a degree and diploma in finance I am shocked that I was not even given a face to face. Since a young age I've wanted to work with CIBC but I will never and I mean never apply to a position here again.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CIBC (Gatineau, QC) in Jan 2016
Interview
Got a referal from a friend, so she called me to book me an interview.
She was not nice at all. She gave me the interview to please my friend but seemed pissed during the whole interview.
She even gave a feedback right after the interview to my friend stating the reasons why she doesn't want to hire me
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
4 Basic questions like : Talk to me about one time you gave a great customer service. Talk to me about a day you did not follow the rules. Then she went with more personnal Questions : Why do you have many contracts (short term jobs) on your resume ? Why aren't you going back to TD Canada Trust ? Why are you wearing boots at an interview (in January) ? You do not have a car, what if there is no bus ?
