Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Case study: you are given a set of financial statements and a brief description of a company - the industry, location, management profile, etc. Questions asked included:
- identify any risks you see with the information provided
- provide a list of questions you would ask management in an initial meeting
- calculate some basis commercial banking metrics (DSCR, borrowing base, etc.)
- you are given a hypothetical financing request and are asked to make a decision based on the information provided
some of the interviewees sit together joining the introduction meeting. listen and ask questions to the commercial banking team. It more like a social network. It host around one and half hour.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC (Edmonton, AB) in Jun 2024
Interview
Started off with a basic 10-minute screening video interview with an HR rep. The first real interview was done with 2 managers on the Corporate Banking team. Another basic interview, asked behavioural questions; no technical. I'm assuming the second-round interview would have had more technical questions to it but I didn't make it there.
